MYWA CENTRAL SECTIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - Wayland High School on February 3, 2013 [Novice wrestling starts @ 8 AM; Middle School Noon]
Sectional Weight In's
CENTRAL: Wayland High School, Cafeteria, Friday, February 1st from 5-8PM.
CENTRAL: Woburn High School, Lower Gym, 88 Montvale Ave Woburn, MA. Friday, Februar 1, 6-8PM.
[Top 5 placers in the Sectional's will qualify for the State Championship on 2/17; All others will qualify for the Big East Championships on 2/10 where you can have another chance to qualify for the State Championship as the Big East Champion qualifies for the States.

Big Red Northeast Wrestling Championships
Tonight the Mad Dog will host weigh-in's for the Big Red Northeast Wrestling Championships from 7-8 p.m. Please do not park at the ice rink. Directions to the wrestling room are posted on the tournament website. Best of luck to our kids!!!!
Youth Winter Session - Grades KG - 8
We are accepting on-going registrations for the winter session. We are looking to fill several higher weigh classes for grades 5-8. If you are interested please contact us; first practice no cost or obligation.
Session dates : 11/26/12 - 2/13/13.
Practices : Monday & Wednesdays - 6:30 - 8 PM; at the Fessenden School - Pallotta Athletic Center wrestling room - 450 Crafts Street, W. Newton, MA.
Program highlights : Individual & peer training, participation in scrimmages, tournaments & dual meet series, nutrition & conditioning, special guest clinicians; wrestling helps to develop self-confidence, discipline, good work ethic & sportsmanship. This is not a Newton only program, we are a wrestling community.
Head Coaches : Kevin Randall, P.J. Cameron, John Passarini, & Joe DiStefano. High School coaches: Kevin Russo , John Staulo, Mike Massarotti
Program cost : $175.00; $35 USA Wrestling membership required for new members. [we will pro-rate session for late registrations; scholarships available on an individual basis]

WOW, what a day of wrestling !!!
Mad Dog Wrestling Club cannot thank MEAN Gene Mills enough for a day of technique, entertainment, motivation and fun - you have inspired our wrestlers to become "pinning machines" !!! Also thanks to our coaches, visiting coaches, parents and volunteers for making this happen ~ special thanks to Geoff Riccio for taking one for the team. We look forward to having Gene back again soon.

Mad Dog Wrestling Club will be hosting a wrestling clinic with "MEAN GENE "the pinning machine" MILLS"
Gene is a 3X world champion; 2X NCAA champion; 1980 Olympian; 1,356 wins; 886 pins in his career. National Wrestling Hall of Fame member - Gene's achievement cannot all be listed here. He is one of our nations Elite masters in the art of wrestling and especialy "Pinning" techniques. Mad Dog Wrestling Club welcome's Gene!!!
WHEN: Sunday - November 18, 2012 [10 a.m. - 2 p.m.]
WHERE: The Fessenden School - Pallotta Athletic Center - 450 Crafts St., W.Newton, MA.
WHO: Grades K-12 wrestlers welcome - [space limited to 100 youth and 100 high school wrestlers]
COST: $20 per wrestler
Pre-registration is encouraged - walk in's welcome but not guaranteed.

First Tournament for Mad Dog Wrestlers
On Saturday, December 17, 2011 – 18 wrestlers participated in the Big Red NE Wrestling Championships at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, MA. Our first tournament as Team Mad Dog, we feel the experience was very positive for all. Wrestlers and parents witnessed first hand the electric atmosphere that only tournaments can provide…..along with the organized chaos, the excitement and passion of the coaches, the pride of standing on the podium, as well as the positive attitude shown when a match didn’t go so well. Above all each member of Team Mad Dog showed team unity, pride and great sportsmanship.
Congratulations to our wrestlers that placed in the top four :
Bantham Division - Dante (46) 3rd place; Brendon (52) 3rd place
Elementary Division - Adam (49) 4th place; Nate (54) 2nd place; Jack (109) 2nd place

Welcome to the start of wrestling season !!!!
To our high school kids, we hope that you took something away from the program that will help you in your upcoming season. AND we wish each and everyone of you the best of luck for your season. Whatever you do ~ DON'T GIVE UP !!!!
To the kids in our youth program, we hope you have enjoyed the fall session and are ready to get serious in our winter session. We are in the process of scheduling scrimmages and tournaments - not mandatory - but that is the real fun !!! Our singlet's should be in any day and we are placing an order for more T shirts.
Our first practice is this Wednesday starting at 6:30 p.m. - for any new wrestlers - if you have paperwork to fill out please arrive a little early.
